I recently bought a 1996 honda civic ex and noticed that my timing belt was hanging off. So I brang it to a firestone shop and waiting on an estimate. They said the harmonic balancer or "crank pully" had a keyway that sheered off and shredded the timing belt. So I guess I need a harmonic balancer replacement and a new timing belt. Im not sure how much the price will be but I dont want to be overpriced. Please help.

Hi rottenapple10,

Thank you for the donation.

The labor time listed ia 2.4 hours for the timing belt replacement which is inclusive of the crank pulley.

Timing belt is listed at $ 44.23
Tensioner = $ 50.77
Camshaft oil seal = $ 4.40
Crankshaft oil seal = $ 4.93
Valve cover gasket = $ 9.35

I do not have the price of the crankpulley and above prices might vary so you would have to check out with the local parts stores for a ore accurate quotation.
