To do a proper job, you need a ball joint remover, tools needed to remove the driveshaft nut, brake calipers including hoses mounting points, an external circlip plier and a hammer.
Remove the knuckle, take out the ball joint circlip and remove the metal ring round the inner hub and knock the ball joint out with the hammer using a rod.
Put ball joint in position and tap it into place making sure the new circlip can be seated fully. Might require some force so make sure you don't damage the new part or its rubber boot. A hydraulic press would be the prefered method to install the ball joint.
Install in reverse order.
