Is there any way to repair a catalytic converter without replacing the entire part. I took my car in for inspection and they told me that it would cost $1300.00 - it is a 1996 and I really don't want to spend that much on the car because I barely paid 3 times that amount for the car itself.

Hi there,

You can't repair catalytic converters. the must be replaced, saying that, you should be able to get a generic converter from n exhaust shop fitter for far less than the price quoted, shop around.
