What does it mean when the car is reving the rpms too fast? For an example. The car. Wants you to shift to second gear @ 15 miles per hr and is reving 3-3 1\2 rpms? Then before 30 it wants you to shift to third and its already at 3-3 1\2?.......what are some reasons to why this happening?

Does the car idle OK? Should be around 600 rpm.

Check your throttle position sensor. It may be sticking. Also check your accelerator cable for kinks, as well.
