Transmission problem
1995 Honda Civic Front Wheel Drive Manual 150000 miles

Lately, as I try shifting it won't go into gear as smoothly as normal. I had to kind of shove the stick into gear, but once it was in gear it didn't slip out or anything--it was just the movement to get it into gear that was forced.

I decided it needed work, so I didn't drive it for a few days and when I was finally able to take it in, I started it up and tried to put it into reverse and it wouldn't go into gear. I tried both 1st and reverse and it made a terrible grinding sound.

Now I haven't added transmission fluid in as far as I can remember, could that be it? Where do I add it on a '95 Honda Civic ex', or could it be my clutch is shot? Would it still start if my clutch was shot? Or is it my transmission? I hope not....

I would love any advice...

Would it still start if my clutch was shot? Whether you clutch or transmission is defective the egnine should start. It sounds like a new clutch assy is in order-
