Hi there,

Honda Civic water pumps are driven by the cam (valve timing) belt. Access is gained by removing the front engine covers, and associated components, great care must be taken to ensure that the vale timing is maintained, as these are interference engines and sever damage can result if an error is made. This is a job not for novice mechanics, but can be completed successfully if great care is taken, use a work shop manual to guide you, as it will have step by step pictures as well.
