After warming up, the engine cycles through reving up and down - as if u were pressing and releasing the gas pedal.

Check the Idle Air Control (IAC). It might have carbon deposits and need cleaning. Also, do the same for the throttle body intake. It might also need cleaning. Post your results and I will follow up.
