Hello

I saw on here that if your manual car does not start all of a sudden but can be push started that it was most likely the clutch switch. But I am still confused on how you jump or test the clutch switch with a wire or paper clip.

Do you take the clutch switch out and connect the two wires that plugged into the switch?

Do you have to run a wire from a power source to the clutch switch from something like the battery?

Hi there,

One of the wires going into the switch will be hot (12V) with the ignition on, the other will power up with the switch tripped, if you join the two wires with a paper clip you complete the circuit and this will prove the switch good or bad. If no live wire fault is in supply to switch.
