$500 to $800 by a mechanic. The parts you would need to do it yourself. Repair/Maintenance manual for about $20 from parts store. Then you need to take off the head and take it to a machine shop. For about $60 they will plane it and check for cracks and look at the valves.
I would replace the timing belt while in their as well as the water pump and check out the idle pulley/self tightner.
It is some work, pretty straight forward and rewarding to say you did it and a job well done!
