I have a 4door honda civic. I bought a brand new clutch to put in. I was wondering if someone could tell me the steps that I have to take to change it, also what tools would I need to use. And if its possible pictures would help me out a lot. Thankyou.

Hi there,

If you intend to replace the clutch your self, you will need some tooling not normally kept by the home mechanic. You will need the car jacked up, to a height that is convenient to work on, on a firm flat base and a means of supporting the engine when the mounts are removed. Also a means of supporting the gear box and aligning the new clutch assembly. The suspension and steering has to be partially dismantled, the fly wheel should be removed and machined, you will need to be able to replace transmission oil. If you feel that you are up to this, let me know and I will send some details.
