Engine Performance problem
1994 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100.00 miles

Ok i have a 94 civic with a d16 vtech. History is this, it was running fine, when i went to the smog shop first time the O2 sensor fell off during smog resulting in a fail. A mechanic told me that it also needed a Head Gasket, so we done everything at once, New HG, Had the head pressure tested, resurfaced, and cleaned, it ran great for a day, sent it to the gold sheild station, he messed with the valve adjustments and told me it needed a new CAT, when I got it back it was surging at idle, after three days of diagnostic work i found the water line to the FIV was plugged,(after i took off the FIV and cleaned it) We also found that the Head gasket never needed replaced at that hose was leaking all along causing the over heat problem. We also took of and Cleaned the air Idle valve. But now the Car loads up and Sends High Carbons at High RPM, and even Smokes a little which it never done before. I put new plugs and new wires, oil change, of coarse no help. It didn't use to smoke before the Head gasket was replaced and would have smogged had i never had that done, any suggestions on what to look at next?

Could be its burning oil due to valves and rings, vacuum leaks and dirty injectors and fuel delivery problems that's causing the HC to go high
