My car idle "revs" itself while I am stopped at certain times. It got hit in the front a few months back, but I got it repaired and it ran fine up until recently. It just started doing this a couple of weeks ago. I drive about 100 miles round trip to school and back three times a week, plus around town, but not too far. Why is my idle "revving" itself at times- not all of the time- but sometimes at stoplights? What could it be? What can I do? How much will it cost? Also, since I had it repaired from the hit, it will overheat if I am stopped with it running too long. What is that?

Thank you for the donation.

I would be looking for a vacuum leak, there are plenty of vacuum hoses on these engine to cause problems, also the idle air by-pass screw may be leaking. Have the ECU checked for any fault codes, codes can be set with out the fault light coming on. As for the over heating, is the cooling fan coming on? If not there is a sensor, which I think is in the radiator on Honda's, which turn on the fan when the temp is high, this wiring may be faulty after the accident.
