Hi tuffnc,

Crankpulley loosens counterclockwise and is torqued at 150 ft/lbs. It comes off easily.

Just did on of these, not so easy.
1/2" inpact did not budge the crankshaft bolt, after several attemps I heated bolt to 450 F. with prybar and 1/2" breakerbar still no luck, bought a stronger and longer breakerbar, fabricated a holding fixture to keep the crankshaft from turning and stood on the breakerbar, ( I weigh 260 lbs.) with a little bouncing it gave it up.

Hi firemech01,

Sorry I confused you. The bolt is torqued at 150 ft/lbs so you need quite some force. What I meant was the pulley would come off easily after the bolt is removed.

Guess you need a 3/4 " handle to get it out. 1/2 "extensions are too flexible and cannot get the proper strength to get the bolt off.

Other optionj is to get a VERY high torque impact, those that the use for truck tires would be ideal. Btw spray some rust remover and let it soak, might help.
