Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Honda Civic Two Wheel Drive Manual 111,00 miles
Hi guys,
Been getting a few probs with my car, it was idling incorrectly, but has now been rectified by changing the idle air control valve. Now however, whenever i brake and change gear (mainly into 2nd, say coming up to a roundabout or junction) the revs drop to 0 and the car stalls unless i quickly press the accelerator to get the revs up again.
It also 'hops' a little when accelerating, but then runs very smoothly, until that dreaded gear change! It stalled on a roundabout earlier as i had some idiot pull out in front of me and i had to change gear quickly which it didn't like!
I have no idea what could be causing this, the engine now idles when stationary at 1000 RPM (whereas before i changed the valve it was idling between just above 0 and 1500rpm!), is 1000 RPM normal idle speed for this car?
I am thinking of taking it in to be put onto a diagnostic machine, but obviously this costs a fair bit of money so thought I would try here first! Thanks in advance!
