1993 Honda Civic wont idle

My car wont idle after its warm, it idles fine when I first start it but after it gets warm it idles between 800 an 1500 rpms. What could it be

Hi jimstoll,

The idling speed is too high and it can be due to :

1. Insufficient coolant in system.
2. Faulty Idle Air Control valve.
3. Idling speed adjusted out of specs.
4. Leaking vacumns.
5. Faulty Fast Idle Thermo Valve.
6. Clogged coolant hoses to IAC and FITV.
