how do I clean out my idle control switch to keep my car from reving up and down when I start it with a cool engine. It is a 1993 honda civic ex, but the motor is out of a 1994 honda civic ex.

Hi FloodedDoomsday,

More likely you are having a problem with cold start valve rather than the Elelctronic Air Control Valve. Clogged coolant hoses to the throttle body, EACV and cold start valve would also cause the surging.

To clean the throttle body, remove intake hose and spray carb cleaner into the throttle to clean the dirt near the valve. Remove idle adjust screw and do likewise to clean. Remove the EACV bolts and spray carb cleaner into the 2 air passages.
