1991 Honda Civic clutch shifter

My 91 honda clutch sticks when pressed and released is there something wrong with the peddle or does it just stick and need to be cleaned?

Does the pedal stick to the floor when depressed? if so, ensure the clutch cable is properly adjusted, and if it is you may have a pressure plate issue which means the transmission may need to be removed.
