I have a 1990 honda Civic. The clutch was replaced about 3 years ago. In the last month it when I put the car in gear it is very slow to engage when I release the clutch.

Any suggestions? I have a clutch cable on order to replace that this week. Being as the clutch is only a couple years old I figured I'd replace the cable first. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Any assistance would be appreciated. I'm not a mechanically inclined person. Thanks

Hi danwatson630,

Your description points to a slipping clutch and most probably you need to replace the disc.

However the cable replacement would make the pedal lighter and more comfortable when shifting.
