1987 Honda Civic wont stay on when put in drive

put in new spark plugs cleaned out carburator with cleaner. new battery .also put c foam in gas and oil tank .oh car has been sitting for 3 years. car starts but when you put it in gear it cuts off every time

Check the fuel pressure this will tell you something about the fuel filter/fuel pump also check the idle speed controller
