Hi
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Just finished putting this car back together last night.
I was going to drive to the gas station and be done with this,,,but
The car started and ran beautiful. I shut it off, and when I restarted it it stumbled like it was missing. when I put it in reverse the rpms would drop and stall. If I play with the gas pedal it will smooth out around 750 rpm, and seem to run normal.
We have 3 cars and mine is the only one running.
I am getting to the point of just setting it on fire.
Below is a list of what I have done:

carb rebuilt, cap rotor and wires.
cam seal
thermostat
The keyway broke on the cam sprocket and turned just enough to bend all the exhaust valves.
New valves
Had a machine shop check for cracks
Head Gasket set....
water pump and timing belt
new alt and belt
Replace the high pressure line
rear wheel cyl
4 tires

Hi Doug_I,

Does it idle well in neutral?

For carburetted engines, any vacumn leakages would affect the idling and cause it to stall. When shifting into gear, the engine would tilt forward and when this occurs, it could expose hidden vacumn leakages and cause the engine to stalll.

Recheck all vacumn hoses for leakages, especially the brake booster hose.
