I'm having problems with the cooling system. My engine is overheating constantly. I've completly removed the thermostat and no change. Replaced the therm and no change. The fan wasn't working and I fixed that. There seems to be no leaks. However, when I attempted to refill the radiator, with the heater on of course, the coolant level does not move. The radiater seems full, but the heater blows cold air and the coolant doesn't seem to be circulating. From that point on I figured it would be the water pump. Well, I can't seem to find it! Whats really going on here?

Your engine may running too cold;
did you say you replace the thermostat with a new one?
Your temperature gauge may be inaccurate.
How long it takes before your temperature gauge showing overheating?

Your water pump is on the side of the engine where the belts are located but it is under a timing belt cover. Now if the water pump was bad it would leak and if it did not turn then the timing belt would be broken. So, look elsewhere first.

If there a slow drop in the coolant level? It sounds too much like a bad head gasket.
