Hello,
I have a 1976 Honda Civic with a 2 shot carb. It will turn over and sometimes start ok, but almost immediately after, it will die. I got some carb cleaner for it, and it will start perfectly with that, but will die again. I replaced the carbon canister, but still the same. It is not a fuel problem, as I checked and it is getting plenty of clean fuel. I think its a bad carburetor gasket? Should I get a carb repair kit for it?

Hi Tom,

It is a fuel problem related to the carburettor. Carb cleaner starts the engine so it means fuel is not getting to the cylinders.

I would suggest checking the carburettor idling circuit and if equipped with fuel cut solenoid, test the solenoid operations.
