Timing Belt Replacement

I have a 2000 Honda EX Accord 6 cyl with 38k miles and recently move from NY to Florida. I went to the Honda dealer in FL because my maintenance lite came on. They said I need a new battery. And I should have my timing belt changed because of the age and different climate. I had the 30K service done in NY last year (about 4K miles ago) and they don't mention anything about the timing belt. Do I really need to replace it? Is there a recommended schedule time and/or mileage to have this done?

No I wouldn't be replacing that thing yet. Don't fall prey to the maintenance light thing. That trips every 10,000 miles. Your owners manual explains it and tells you how to reset it. Don't do the battery if you don't have problems with it. Oil change but trust your judgement.
