Seat Belt Warning Light on

The seat belt light is going off but the seat belt is properly locked into position and the automatic seat belt is all the way back where it is supposed to be. Any suggestions on either turning it off or any easy affordable fix would be great. Thanks!!!

the light stays on or off?

Yes it stays on, or blinks off and on and beeps off and on also.

ok.. then should be a microswitch (switch) thet senses the belt on position.. that could be located at the end of the belt racer.. check that first that should be a double switch because have to take care of stoping the motor that moves the belt...
let us know what is going on.

I am having the exact same problem on the exact same year and make of car. I have taken the car to different mechanics and they can't figure it out. Where is the belt racer located? I'm trying to get this fixed because the beeping noise drives me crazy going down the road.

Hello,

There is a automatic seat belt warning module that goes out in these cars which makes the chime go off.

Here is a wiring diagram so you can see if you unplug it the chine should stop. Then run some tests to make sure the module is getting signal the belt is in place if it is the module is bad, you should replace it to be safe. There are some fuses that need to be checked as well.
