Ran out of oil

Hi

We are looking at purchasing a 4 cyl 2005 Honda Accord LX with 34,000 miles on it. In looking at the service records it appears that last summer the owner had the oil changed before a trip. On the trip the engine started making a knocking noise and the oil light came on so they pulled to the side of the road. It turns out that the dealership didn't put the oil plug in all of the way and the oil had leaked out. A dealership in Florida checked the engine and said it appeared that there wasn't any engine problem so they refilled and re- plugged. My question is. If there is a problem with the engine, would it have showed up by now, after a year? The car is still under warranty for another 2,000 miles and it seems like it runs great, but I don't want to purchase an engine that is going to start falling apart. :)

Any thoughts?

If the dealer took apart the engine, and looked at it and its a reputable place then I would say go for it! Try running it for a long distance for a test run and see, if it runs good, idles great, then I see why not.
As long as the motor didng seize up on the previous owners then I dont see why anythign is wrong with it!
