You need the code to get the radio to work again, no power to the radio after battery was changed radio goes into error mode for security. If you have the model that says anti-security on the radio face.

code is needed to run the radio again
check if you have radio code if so turn radio on the enter code using preset
if not you need THE VIN #
give the dealer a call and ask them for the code
or have the repair shop do it
on some occasions radio must be pulled out for a serial # off of it
you are alowed three wrong entry or it will lock for an hr
