Ok, i'm car clueless & I go to a shop where the guy barely speeks english but usually fixes my stuff for cheap and quick - so, now I have a big problem & from what I understand from my car guy I don't like what he is saying. I have a 1990 Honda Accord, its a standard, um, mileage is about 213,000 - I have no idea what the engine size is. Um the car was perfectly fine 2 weeks ago, then I had to get the ignition fixed (lent the car to someone who lost the key & tried to start it with a screwdriver & broke the ignition!) - Anyway, picked up the car from the shop & noticed a lot of grey/white smoke coming out of the back - I thought maybe it had just sat for too long & it would go away - which it did after driving for about 15 min. Then I didn't drive the car for another 5 days & the smoke thing happened again, then the next day the smoke persisted & I noticed that the engine was revving out right away as I was shifting gears & I only had to give a little gas before the rev dial thing was hitting 3++ & it was also revving up & down while I was sitting in neutral - I asked someone what they thought was going on with my car & they said I probably just needed more oil - so I put more oil the next day (being today now) & started the car up again - still smoking, but not revving like yesterday, but I could hear some kinda clanking noise somewhere - I took it to my shop guy he had me push the gas while he looked at the smoke and he checked my oil level - then he said 'oil burn, engine no good, going to die, buy a new car' - then as I was bringing it home the car did literally die 5 feet from my parking space - the oil & battery lights came on (but I know the battery is fine, its only like a year old & the muffler is like a year old too) - is my engine really gone? Is there something else it could be? Do I have options? I don't want to scrap it cuz other than what just happened its been a great car, particularly for its age!

Clanking noise and oil burning sounds like it needs an engine rebuilding
