Accord 97 - " Error 3" display on factory stereo

Hi,
I have Accord 97 Special Edition.
I changed my Battery two days ago.
Since then my factory installed stereo system displays "Err 3" and doesn’t work.
I contacted Honda and they told me it would cost 100 Buck to fix. They say they have to reset the computer. And every time u change battery this would happen. This is simply a rip off. To a way to make money.
Is there any thing I could do to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you have documentation on the car from when it was new there is a code for entry to get the radio backup. The serial number of the radio and proof of ownership of the vehicle are often enough to get the code again from Honda. I have had good luck in getting that for free from them.
