98 Honda Accord

I have a 98 honda accord lx, 69695 miles, with a 4 cylinder v-tech engine, when I put the car in reverse it starts to go into reverse, but as I accelerate in reverse the car seems to not want to go anywhere, it feels like I'm in neutral, do you have any advice as to what the problem may be?

I might try to check the shift linkage or cable for proper adjustment.

No adjustment on that cable. Check the fluid, make sure the car is warm. If it needs fluid make sure to use honda fluid. If its full chances are the trans is going bad. Get a professional trans guy to take a look at it.
