I have a 91 honda accord lx with about 280,000 miles on it, tha problem is that when drive it if you are under 2,000 rpm's then the car miss fires bad its like puttin ur foot on the break and gas at the same time but when u get over 2,000 rpm's it does good but it overheats my cat. Converter, I have already put a new fuel filter, new plugs and wires and a new distributor and cap, and took tha cat. Converter off to see if it was clogged and it did not fix it either, and it still does the same thing. Im lost on it, can u help.

A question I am reluctant to ask is when was the timing belt replaced? Here is my logic. Does it start pretty good at all temps? Your timing could be way off caused by a timing belt that jumped. They can test that by checking the engine timing. A couple off and it will run poorly but after that you are headed to severe problems with the engine. It is an easy check on the timing.

Yes I dd replace tha timiing belt or should I say a mechanic did about 8 months ago when my water pump went out I replaced both timing belts, I was thinking of taking it to autozone or somewhere to have put on tha computer to try to see whats wrong. And yes it starts good from any temp, it idles ok. But u have to give tha car more acceleration than u would normally need to drive it, I put some "seafoam" in tha tank to c if that would help

I doubt they will pull any codes from the computer. Start with the EGR valve. There is a kit for that to clean and rebuild it.

You don't have a check engine light on or atleast you haven't mentioned one.
