2009 Honda Accord Undercoating

Buying new Honda Accord EX-L & dealership is saying that the car will need undercoating at an additional cost. Is this necessary?? we're in inland dry climate

If you live where there will be not much rain, snow or seaside (about 50 miles), then you won't need it. Even if you need it, you can do it yourself. Takes about 2 hours and maybe 4 cans of undercoating at about $5 per can.
