Steering problem
2009 Honda Accord Automatic

Steering wheel runs ~ 5 degrees right on straight flat roads. Two attempts to fix it at dealer have failed.

Hi davewesley,

Centralising of the steering wheel should be rather simple and I do not understand why the dealer is not able to do it.

Does the vehicle pull to any side if going in a straight ahead position, ie with steering off center?

Was there any significant changes when the centralising was done?

If the steering was held centralised, which side does it pull to?

It took 3 visits. On the first, they did a wheel alignment.

On the second, they redid the alignment.

On the third, I showed them your suggestions and they finally fixed it.

I think they charged Honda for two warrantee jobs. They probably couldn't get paid for simply adjusting the steering rack which they should have done in the first place.

Some dealers just don't follow procedures and take simple jobs for granted without thinking of the consequences of a bad impression to the customer.

Glad that you have solved the problem.

Have a great day :)
