Thank you legitimate007. I am just a worrier. What about a musty smell in the car. Looks like a non smoker had it before me, so don't think that is it. Should I check the cabin filter?

2005 Honda Accord LX V4 mileage: 19,000. I need some help with my car's air conditioning. It is dripping out water onto the floor matt of the front driver side, and it is leaking out a lot of water onto the floor matt of the front passenger side (a lot). Both floor mats stay dry as long as the air conditioner is not on. I do not know very much about cars and I was wondering if this was just a fluke (because it has been very hot lately and the air conditioner has been on full blast), or if it is a problem that I should have fixed. Is something that I might be able to fix myself.

There should be a drain line on the bottom of the air-conditioning unit that is under the dash. The drain line should drain the condensate water out through a tube to the outside of the car. Yours is probably plugged.

There was quite a bit or rain and I drove through little high waters. As a result, some water creeped in through the doors (even though they were closed). It wasn't a lot of water though. It surely was not flooded. I took it to a car wash center and used the water extractor to take out all the water and the carpet is almost dry. But it took me 5 hrs from the time water came into the car till I took it to the water extractor.

Would this cause any trouble in the future? I know there will be electric wires running underneath the carpet and the padding. Is what I have done fine? Or are there any other precautions to be taken? Please advise. Dealers say that they remove the carpet, shampoo it and treat the cables and such stuff but are charing me $850+ for that..

The only concern is mold. If it has dried and there is no odor, you should be fine. As far as the wiring, there is minimal and it will be fine.

I drove through a flooded road about 5 hours ago (I had no choice). The water got to about the top of my hood on the front end. It has been running fine for the remainder of the day. There is no water in the interior of the car and the radio works fine. The only difference is that when I push the panic button on the remote, the horn doesn't sound as loud as it did. Should I be worried? What signs should I be looking for in case there is damage? Thank you.

sounds like you have ruined the horn and flooded it with water. such as when a speaker gets wet it gets quiet.

i would dry off alll sensors, and electrical components to make sure they arnt shorting out.

I noticed that the floor was wet on the front driver's side. It was raining heavy the other day and when I got in the car I could see water on the foot rest on the left side. I could also see water dripping down by the clutch pedal. I have cleared the debris from the outside of the car at the bottom of the windshield. I think there are drainage holes (from what I have read) that need to be unclogged. What do they look like and how do I unclog them? Thanks!

There are no drainage holes above the clutch pedal. You have a leak and it is most likely to be from the front windshield.

2005 Honda Accord 4 cyl Automatic 60000 miles

My vehicle drips water from 3 places under my vehicle. The first is about where the hood meets the car, and then about 1 foot there is another drip, and a little further down, another drip. It is not oil or antifreeze, it is clear and has no smell, so I figured it was water. What could this be coming from and is it a problem?

That most probably is condensation water being drained from the evaporator. Some of it could be trapped onto the cross-members and dripping off at a different location.

It is normal and nothing to worry about if that is the case.

there is water coming out from a pipe under the engine and i dont know where it is coming from, cause the water levels havent went down, and my coolant fan keeps coming on everytime i sit idle

If your not losing coolant, you are probably seeing condensation from the AC system which is normal.

You are not overheating I assume?

The fan coming on at idle is good & normal. IT replaces the volume of air that is missing from the car not moving.

i have a constant drip of water comeing from a rubber pipe located underneath the car.

i do not run the air con or put the climate control onto auto. yet every time i stop the vehicle there is a puddle of water gathers from the overflow pipe.

there is no drop in flewid levels under the bonet????

The hose should be the AC cooling coil ( evaporator ) drain hose and if you do not use the AC, there should not be any water coming from it.

Check if the compressor is working when the engine is running without the AC being turned on.

I am getting condensation on the pass side of front windshield when I use the heater, the condensation is only on the OUTSIDE.

That's not condensation. That's called dew and that's what the wipers are for.
It's only a problem if it's happening on the INSIDE of the windshield.

HI, Thanks for your time. My Accord is getting wet on the front and rear passenger floors. It appears to be after rain but, not sure. Took it to the dealer and they said it is something inside the tubular construction of the body and i need to take it too a body shop for that kinda work. Possibly plastic hoses? but, what would the hoses go to?? seems fishy, don't have any ideas. Could you tell me if Honda houses some hoses inside the tubular framing?? And if it is even a possibility?/ Thanks

Hi mini17mugs. Welcome to the forum. Do you have a sun roof? They have drain tubes for rain seepage that could be blocked or disconnected. You can verify that by running water over it from a garden hose for a while, then watching for water showing up inside the car.

It's also possible for the drain tube to be blocked for the air conditioning. Humidity condenses and drips into the drain pan in the dash, then runs onto the ground. Look for a 4" long rubber hose with a 90 degree bend hanging down from the passenger side of the firewall under the hood. Squeezing it will usually dislodge any debris, otherwise you can squeeze the wire ring that holds it on, and pull the hose off, then carefully poke a pencil into the tube to clear the blockage. It seems unlikely the AC drain would be the problem because due to the slope of the floor, water shouldn't be able to get to the rear. It is a common source of water leakage in the right front though.

I have had this car one week. I noticed black stuff all inside the tailpipe and around the edge of the pipe on the outside. It has rained alot since I got the car and one day we had loads of rain ... 6 inched in one day. Could this be from moisture or something to do with the rain. or should I be concerned something is wrong with the car? I live in North Carolina, (if that matters)

This may just be exhaust residue from lots of short trips, if the engine & exhaust dose not reach normal operation temp, 02 in the exhaust will condense and leave a mess like this around the exhaust, i would not be over concerned at this stage.
