A small 1 inch twig fell into engine oil fill hole when putting funnel in engine.

I cannot see or get at the twig. I did not put the oil in the car.

How should I proceed?

A twig huh, the only one I've heard of better than that was a guy changing his oil wnet into the garage to get oil and got interrupted by a fishing buddy. They started BSn' and he forgot about his oil change 'til late afternoon. When he went out to finish, a house wren had started to build a nest in the open filler hole in the top of the old 6 cyl. And had dropped a bunch of twigs. He had to pull the valve cover to clean it out.
Anyway, on to your twig. One little stick isn't going to hurt anything. "IF" it perchance it makes it's wat to the oil pan, the oil pickup screen will catch it. Go ahead and fill 'er up. Just watch out for the birds.

There's a few brackets and maybe a wiring harness or 2, but personally, I wouldn't worry about it. You may wind up creating more problems than you solve.
