2006 Honda Accord Transmission fluid

I was about to add a half quart of Dextron transmission fluid but the Honda owner's manual says to use the Honda ATF-Z1 fluid and that if you use Dextron to change the fluid soon after otherwise the transmission may not shift smoothly.

Should I use the expensive (almost $10/qt) Honda fluid or the unused Dextron I have left over from a few years ago? Is Honda trying to scare me into buying their product?

no ,no, spend the $10 and don’t use that old tranny fluid
its a totally different type of fluid
spend $10 today or $100 maybe $1000 later you chose
