I recently bought a gps device to use in my 2006 honda accord. However, when I attempted to charge/power it with the honda's power socket, my attempt failed. I faulted the gps device and sent it back in return for another. The second gps device failed to be powered with the vehicle's accessory power socket as well. I now fault the vehicle's power socket.

Are the 2006 honda accords capable of powering accessories like gps devices through their power sockets? Or is there something that I am not doing?

Hello,

Check the relay for the accessory power outlet.
The relay is located on the driver side kick panel to the left (see diagram).
First do a visual inspection for any corrosion or burnt pin(s).
You can also test the functionality of the relay.

Here is a helpful article:

If the relay is good, then you might have a wiring issue. Check to see if you are getting power to the connector of the accessory outlet. If you do not have power, then you will have to trace the wires for any short or open.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
