I have a 2005 Honda Accord with 39,000 miles on it. I have recently done a transmission flush, engine flush and new power steering fluid. I get oil changes every 30,000 miles. I have a few questions.

1. I still have the same tires I got with the car when I bought it, when do I need new tires? The guy at my oil change place said I can go another 10,000 miles.
2. When do I need to get a tune-up?
3. When do I need to get new break pads?

I dont really drive the car too much. Pretty much just on the weekends as I live right outside of new york city and use public transportation the majority of the time.

Thanks for your help

Hi danababy,

Tires and brake pads are replaced as and when required and visual inspections are necessary to determine it. If your oil change guy says it can last another 10,000 miles, then you have nothing to worry about now.

Modern vehicles are made with minimal tune-ups required and mostly the things that you need to check are the air filter and spark plugs. If the spark plugs are of the iridium type, they can last up to 60,000 miles.
