Just recently driving my car...I realized that it wasn't driving as normal. It felt like the engine was straining. So, I decided to check my oil....the stick only had a little bit on the tip. I put more oil in it, which is the same oil required for the car. The engine still feels like it is straining and when the car is idle it shakes, which it hasn't been doing before.

Do you have any suggestions to what is causing this?

Thanks :-)

Hi AspiringAct21,

Shaking at idling with power losses are mostly caused by misfirings and you should check the spark plugs and related items.

I thought that my spark plugs were the problem, but wanted a second opinion.

I'll get them changed today and see how that works out!

Thanks!

Hi AspiringAct21,

You are welcomed but please remember we are onlay able to provide some advice. You need to check the spark conditions to confirm of they are bad. Compare the plugs against each other to see if there are any abnormalities. Black sooty spark plugs are usually a sign of misfiring and bad plugs.
