Hello -
Well I have looked in two different manuals and there aren't step by step directions or pics to give you. I am sorry about that.
So, what I have done is attach some info from one of the TSBs at least showing you a pic of the area on spring replacement to give you an idea. . ..then I will do my best to kind of walk through what I believe you will be dealing with.
The gears may be slipping where the motor connects to the regulator which may be why it will not stay up.
Many times on this type, the regulator itself is okay it is just the motor. But you need to look it all over really good.
If you are not sure how to do something then please ask. . .. . ...if you can send a pic that is even better.
Also, if you have never done this, please be careful. . .. . ..things are sharp in there and not much space. So move slow and just be careful. . .. . .. . .. . ..
Here is a pic of what you are getting to.
Remove the door panel. . .. . .I would purchase some clips that hold the panel on before I remove the panel. Most of the time they break and then your door panel flops around. Just go to the dealer and they can look up how many clips and they should be abut 25 cents each or around there.
You may have sound barrier or plastic over the door. Carefully remove that and do your best not to damage it.
Once you get to the regulator try to lower the window until you can see the bolts that connect the regulator to the bottom of the window. . .. . .
Take a couple of rubber door stops and gently jam between the door and the glass to keep the glass from falling down once disconnected.
Disconnect the motor connector
Remove all the bolts
Remove the regulator with motor from the door.
Perform a good inspection of the assemble to make sure nothing on the regulator is damaged that may have caused the problem.
Remove the old motor - install the new.
Then reverse up to the point of putting the door panel on then ops check to make sure it works okay.
Then the door panel back on.
Please let me know if you have any questions. . .. . .. . ...I hope this helps. . .. . .. . ..
