I have been having trouble getting my 2003 Accord through inspection. I keep getting a not ready rejection and there are three codes that keep popping up---- Catalyst not ready, evaporative system
not ready and O2 sensor ready. My garage suggested that I drive the car through several cycles
before trying to get it through inspection. I've done so but my check engine light is still on and I'm getting the same codes. I'm currently trying a product called " Guaranteed To Pass" fuel system
cleaner. I'm following the instructions and I notice that the car seems to be running smoother. However, my check engine light is still on. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John

Hi equinox3473,

The problems described would not trigger the CEL. What were the exact trouble codes retrieved?

Hi:
Thanks for your help. The exact codes are:

Catalyst not ready

Evaporative system not ready

O2 sensor not ready.

However, the O2 sensor code disappears after driving
the car for an hour or so

These are not trouble codes. They are a defination of the engine computer monitoring condition.

All 3 listed items would not trigger the CEL.

Trouble codes would start with Pxxxx, x being numericals, 0 to 9.
