Transmission problem
2003 Honda Accord 6 cyl Automatic 135,00 miles

I have a 2003 Honda Accord V6 with 134,200 miles. TCS light came on & car would
not shift gears. Brought it to Honda dealership & diagnosed with multiple
trouble codes P0700 & P0721. Traced problem to failed countershaft speed
sensor. Replaced countershaft speed sensor for transmission & cleared trouble
codes.

Drove the car for a total of 50 miles & car would not shift gears. Engine light
came on. I was told that I need a new PCM.

Since I now need a new PCM, do you think I also needed a new countershaft
sensor?

I appreciate your assistance with this.

Hi maryk2121,

When trouble codes occurs, it is possible for the sensor or PCM to be faulty. Counter shaft sensors might provide wrong readings due to internal slipping of the gear shafts.

Sensors seldom fails and I would sugggest replacing the PCM and rechakc if symptom goes away.
