Brakes problem
2003 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

hi and thanks in advance for your help.
Unfortunately, I snapped off the head of a hand impact screwdriver phillips bit in the rotor retaining srew and need to pull the hub to bring it to a shop for removal. When using a hub puller the axel receeded, but did not clear the hub as the hub stayed in place. Is there some type of retainer ring or something holding the hub that I am missing?

No, the problem is that the hub bearing is pressed on to the hub and it take tremendous force to get it apart. The axle is just sliding on the splines so it moving means nothing. Having the rotor still on it take away some of the impact force of the slide hammer.

[quote="Benc"] thanks much! Assembly removed w/ hub in-place, but ABS monitor frozen. How fragile is this peice connected to hub? I'll find out. Have a great day.
