Engine Performance problem
2003 Honda Accord 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive 171, 07 miles

I own a 2003 Honda Accord EX 4door. I've never had any major problems with this car within the four years that I've had it. I had work done on this car (spark plugs, flushes, brakes, rooters, valves etc.) Feb. Of this year and all oil changes have been completed by the dealership as well. I'll give a timeline of what happened from my oil change on 04-03-2010 through today.

4/3/10--Car went in for oil change, paid for oil change, getting in car to leave dealership and a mechanic runs out to my car and says he needs to look at something. Pops the hood and tells me to wait just a min he'll be back. Comes back with oil and starts pouring it into my car. Another employee comes out the building and speaks to the mechanic. The employee then comes to my window and gives me a card stating that my next oil change is free and the mechanics need to be more careful.

5/18/10--Take my car in for oil change because oil light and engine light came on after going over the mileage by 200 miles.

Engine light and oil light go off.

6/29/10--Take my car in for oil change because oil light and engine light came on after going over the mieage by 100 miles.

Engine light and oil light go off.

7-30-10--Engine light comes on.
8-3-10---Oil lights comes on.

8-4-2010--Take car to dealership. Told that engine is burning the oil.

Hi smihtu9904,

What is the mileage that you follow for each oil change?

At the age and mileage of the engine, it is not surprising for the engine to be burning some oil.

The primary cause would be the valve seals which would harden over time.
The first time engine oil was not added or it was insufficient we do not know but it did not cause any damage because if it had, the engine would be noisy during acceleration, which you did not mention.
