I brought my car in today to have my front Lt wheel replaced due to a minor accident hitting the curb resulting in a bent wheel. I had the wheel replaced my alignment done and my tires rotated. The mechanic called me before pick up and informed me that I needed a rear camber adjustment kit and have excessive wear on my rear tires. he also said I need two new tires which are farely new a little over a year...My question is, how common is this problem and what are my options, I have never heard of anything like this?

Hi jlaffen,

This is a common bs line used by alignment shops.

If the camber is out, you need to check for worn bushes, not use camber kits to compensate which would run out in no time when worn bushes gets worse.

Rear alignments are adjustable.

camber kits work, that is the only way to adjust certain vehicles.

You did not read the reply properly.

Of course camber kits works, taking a painkiller to contain a toothache is only a temporary measure.

When adjustments are required for those vehicles that you are refering to, it means something is wrong somewhere, you need to repair it.

Honda cars DO NOT need any camber kits unless there are frame damages causing alignment problem.

according to that logic, you never have to make any adjustments to correct the alignment. you just need to replace parts.
