2003 Honda Accord ac not comming on

My question is this. My auto mode will light up but the clutch will not kick in on the compresor. When I push the up button on the fan switch the light goes out. I am trying to find out if its a temp issure or is the compresor bad. I check all fueses and they are ok. Don't know if there is one by the compresor. Also the other lights as well as the ac light will go out when I push the up button on the fan switch.
