We have a 2003 Honda Accord EX 4-dr, 4 cylinder with aproximately 37,000 miles. The LCD screen that displays the radio/cd info as well as the temperature settings for the dual zone AC is very dim and can only be read if the ambient lighting is "just right." Also some of the buttons on the center of the dash below the LCD are no longer backlit. The radio/cd and AC work fine but we cannot read the settings. I check the fuse box in the car and the 15 amp fuse for the forward accessory outlet was blown and I replaced it. This did not solve the problem but when I plugged a phone charger into the outlet the fuse blew again.

I have called he local Honda dealer and they said that I would need to replace the entire radio/cd player at a cost of $600-$800. HELP! Can the display be repaired/replaced.

Thanks for your help.

Hi.
Well I have a question:
Did the "dim" switch works on the rest of the accesories?

I think those llights are controlled by the "dim" switch.

And that "blown" fuse on the lighter its related to the problem. Let us know.

Btw I dont think that you have to replace the lcd.
Looks like you have a "short circuit" somewhere on the dashboard.
