I did an oil change on my car and less than a quart of oil came out. I put the extended life oil in it and i drove it and no smoke no knocking or anything. There is no oil on the oil pan or the engine or the under carge so my question is why is the oil so low ?

Hi there,

if there is no external oil leak, the only other place it can go is out the exhaust, oil breaks down over a period of time and you may experience small amounts of oil being consumed over a period of time with no noticeable evidence of smoking, how long was it between changes?

Hey mark
I use that oil that is supposed to last up to 15,000 miles and i check my oil once every month and its usualy about one quart low every six months. I guess it could be the rings but there is no smoke and no loss in horsepower and no lights on the dash. This isnt normal on my car to be that low on oil. Thanks for replying to my question.
