Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Honda Accord 6 cyl Automatic 72000 miles

Help! I accidentally pumped a full tank of diesel in my car. I started driving but my car stopped. What should I do? My car is in the garage right now, would it be enough to drain gas tank and put the recommended gas? Would I need to replace the fuel injectors or anything else? Also, should I get my engine flushed?
Thank you very much!

Hi there,

You will need to fully drain the tank and replace the filters and flush out the fuel line, the injectors should be OK, fill the tank with fuel and use a good quality fuel system cleaner, after start up, it may be a bit hard to start, it will smoke like a steam train for a bit but this will clear, it would be good to change the oil & filter as well, there should not be any long term problems for you to worry about.
