2002 Honda Accord My Honda makes a screeching kind of noise

2002 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150k miles

Hi I have a 2002 Honda accord (COUPE) that I just bought.

Recently I have noticed that it makes a screehing kind of noise when I turn my key to turn on the car.

It will do it 1 or 2 time and on the 3rd attempt the engine will turn on.

I dont know what is happening, please reply back. Thanks

Hi abhi,

Sounds like the starter is crashing against the flywheel ring gears. It could be a bad starter gear or the ring gears are worn.
