I HAVE ABOUT 18000 MILES ON A SET OF CHAMPION HR TIRES (FIRESTONE), BUT AFTER ABOUT THE 3RD MONTH OF OWNERSHIP, I NOTICED THE TIRES WERE "NOISY".

I HAVE THE ALIGNMENT CHECKED EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE, AND I ROTATE THE TIRES EVERY OIL CHANGE, BUT THE TECHNICIAN ALWAYS SAYS HE SEES "A LITTLE FEATHERING" OF THE TIRES.

THE STRUTS ARE ORIGINAL.
I THINK THE STRUTS ARE THE PROBLEM.

QUESTION:

IF I REPLACE THE STRUTS, IS THE DAMAGE ALREADY DONE TO THE TIRES (DO I HAVE TO REPLACE TIRES WHEN I REPLACE STRUTS)?

HI there,

If the struts are suspect, replace them and get an alignment done, if the tyres only show some minor feathering they will be fine, just keep up the rotations and you should not have any problems.
